Description

Cubist Still Life This Cubist still life unit of work asks students to research Cubism and create a sketchbook page, create a collage (of pots, jars mugs etc) with the collage pieces included in this download, and draw their collage.  The good example included, uses pencil, charcoal and pen.  This download includes:

  • The 12 slide presentation pictured above.  This contains the examples to teach with and is not a presentation about Cubism. The information on the slides is editable.
  • The pieces required to make the collage.
  • A three page written unit of work.
  • An assessment rubric.
  • An extension activity.

Designed for the classroom, this project would also work well as a hybrid project.  It does rely on you printing the collage pieces for your students.

Sarah Crowther – The Arty Teacher

I set up The Arty Teacher because I have a passion for my subject that I want to share with other art teachers around the world.

I have been a high school art teacher for over 20 years, so I understand what it’s like to be in front of a class of students, often with very different abilities and attitudes.

I wanted to develop resources that would help teachers to bring out the best in every student in every class. I also wanted to free-up staff from time-consuming lesson preparation to let them focus instead on delivering exciting, motivating, dynamic lessons, supported by excellent resources.
