Bio

Hello,I’m Helen Naylor, the artist and ‘creative mastermind’ behind Pocket Wren. An Art & Design (BA Hons) graduate, a published illustrator and artist, I love all things creative and sharing that passion with others. Over the 15+ years I have worked within the primary setting, I have had the privilege of seeing art transform, excite and inspire children of all ages and abilities. There is nothing quite as joyful as watching creativity blossom before your eyes!

Experience in Schools

I am a fully DBS checked freelance artist available to deliver art workshops around the North West and beyond. Whatever your theme, I can develop a creative workshop tailored for your pupils age, ability and school topics. I offer differentiated arts activities that cover skills outlined in the National Curriculum for years 1 to 6 and follow the Development Matters document for Early Years. Workshops can vary in length from a couple of hours to full day sessions and longer projects and can be designed for whole classes and smaller groups including SEN. You may also use your involvement with me as a community artist to focus and evidence your schools Arts Mark Award. I am also open to commissions for those projects that require something a little more bespoke. I can work with you to turn your ideas into reality. I offer the opportunity to create a truly one off project for your school. Murals are a great way to brighten up those forgotten corners of your school or to make a grand statement and are suitable for either indoors or outside. These larger scale artworks can be created with as much input from your children as you wish.
