Drawing a Lobster with Different Media

Drawing a Lobster with Different Media

Drawing a lobster with different media is an ideal resource if you want your students to experiment with a wide range of media in a short period of time.  It also gets them working on different surfaces.  This download includes:

  • An 8 slide PowerPoint presentation, pictured above.
  • A good example which could be printed and put on desks.
  • 3 high-resolution, colour images of lobsters.

There are more under the sea art resources on The Arty Teacher.

I was very enthusiastic about this activity, but when I got the downloads I was disappointed. The package does not include a template to color the lobster. It shows the contrast and value, but it does not provide a “clean” template to practice the contrast and value for ourselves. If you are planning to make your kids draw the lobster and then color it, this is the activity for you. It may turn into a project of two or three weeks.
