Making sketchbooks is an exciting dimension to add to your curriculum. During this course you will learn exciting and adaptable ways to make sketchbooks.
Objective: To learn a variety of ways to make sketchbooks.
During this training, you will:
- Learn two ways to make a sketchbook out of one piece of paper.
- Create a hard cover stitched book, learning traditional bookbinding techniques.
- Explore how to make a one-section book with a variety of papers.
- Make a recycled book using all recycled materials.
- Understand how to make a hard cover concertina book.
Once you have watched the professional development, you will be able to download a certificate that includes your name, the name of the course, and the duration. Although the video is 1½ hours the duration of the course is 8 hours to allow you time to complete the tasks within and consider how you will integrate what you have learnt into your teaching.
Materials Required: There is a detailed ‘Materials & Measurements’ download included with this training that details everything you need for each sketchbook you make. You will need drawing paper, greyboard, waxed or strong thread, PVA or mod podge glue, glue stick, scissors, craft knife, metal ruler, acrylic, recycled papers and card such as Amazon card envelopes, old paper envelopes, wrapping paper, paper bags, newspaper. A long-armed stapler and embroidery thread.
This course does not teach you what to put in the sketchbooks!
