Bio

I am a visual artist who works responsively, creating installations, interventions and drawings. I have exhibited my work internationally and have participated in a range of artist residencies and projects with an environmental and ecological theme. I create site-specific installations in response to the immediate surroundings, often utilising or inspired by found and reclaimed materials. My work presents environmental themes and issues such as climate change, pollution, erosion and adaptation on a public scale. Practice-based research themes emerging in my work include those explored and experienced while creating site-specific installations.

Experience in Schools

I have delivered workshops and arts-based projects in a range of settings for participants of all ages and abilities. I enjoy working with people on independent work and have a real passion for the power of collaborative projects making large scale environmental installations, sculptures, drawings, paintings, and banners to name a few. In my workshops I like to show participants how to photograph their own work. I have found these photographs can; improve observational skills, record temporary artworks, be included in portfolios, and can also be developed further using mixed media techniques. Drawing has always been a key element of my practise and I advocate a range of drawing activities for exploring and discovery, for generating ideas and new possibilities and most of all having fun. Workshops can be indoors, outdoors in the local park or at the beach!
