Bio
Vivian Qiu is a sentimental jewellery designer and teaching artist with fashion design background. Her jewellery practice focuses on reflective design based on sentiment, self-healing and cultural identity. She makes materials for her own jewellery and artwork, such as rice fabric and rice clay.
She has also collaborated with galleries, museums and organisations to deliver interactive workshops, such as National Gallery of Victoria, Signal, City of Melbourne, Immigration Museum, RMIT First Site Gallery and Geelong Wool Museum. Vivian’s projects have also been presented as part of Melbourne Fashion Festival and Melbourne Design Week 2021 and 2023.
Vivian has presented her work in solo and group exhibitions in Australia and Sweden. Vivian is also an inspirational public speaker. She delivered speeches at high schools and creative organisation on the topic of pursuing art career.
Vivian worked as an artist in residence at McKinnon Secondary College as part of 6-month Creative Workers in Schools program initiated by Regional Arts Victoria in 2021. She has undertaking jewellery trainings in Australia and Sweden. Vivian continues to research and develop educational programs focusing on cultural identities and well-being.
