How do you get your students to write an artists statement? One way is to use this worksheet. It breaks down the tasks into three sections: what they have made and with what materials, the process they have been through and where they got their inspiration from.
If students write a sentence for each they should have a short artist statement suitable for displaying next to an artwork. More able students will, of course, write more.
