This lesson is detailed and effective. As a grade 3/4 teacher, I might create simpler silhouettes for the students to paint around. The lesson is clear, the slideshow is stellar, detailed and FUN! I love how the students are given choice, and how easy it is to integrate. I a. Running art club for our school, and I think this will be my first lesson. I cannot recommend this lesson more. I love that it gives a challenging follow up for fast finishers. It allows artistic children to be challenged to extend their understanding of bird anatomy beyond the contour of the bird. It might serve as practice for shading. It allows students to work in a variety of media. It could be further explored for younger children using simpler outlines, of by blowing up a smaller portion of the bird to really encourage careful sharing without being overwhelming. I loved this lesson! Thank you Sarah. It was brilliant.
Thank you so much for this detailed review. I’m really pleased to read that you like it and would recommend it 🙂
