Colour Theory Chinese Dragon

This ‘Colour Theory Chinese Dragon’ lesson can be used as a cover/sub lesson or as an introduction to harmonious/analogous and contrasting colours.  It is ideal if you are exploring China or Chinese New Year with your students.  Students will:

  • Experiment with selecting three harmonious/analogous and one contrasting colour to create a colour scheme.
  • Paint their selected colours using watercolour onto the worksheet above.

This download includes:

  • A worksheet for painting on (pictured here).  There are two versions, one that uses the spelling ‘colour’ and term ‘harmonious’, and one that uses the spelling ‘color’ and term ‘analogous’.
  • A 12-section colour wheel.  Also two versions with the spellings ‘colour’ and ‘color’.
  • A lesson plan.
