‘Drawing Eyes Home Learning’ is a four-page resource that asks your students to photograph their eyes and then draw from their photographs. Clear instructions and excellent visual examples give your students the support they need to work independently making it ideal for home learning. An assessment rubric is also included so that your students know what you’ll be looking for when you assess their work.
Our students all work at different paces but I would allow one lesson for photographing eyes and a lesson for each of the five drawings. The good example shown above, shows two drawings in pencil, one in black pen, one in red pen and one in coloured pencil. The written instructions suggest these media to your students but it could all be done in pencil.
There is a version of ‘Drawing Eyes Home Learning’ for the UK and USA to allow for variations in language.
There are lots of art home learning resources on The Arty Teacher.

I set up The Arty Teacher because I have a passion for my subject that I want to share with other art teachers around the world.
I have been a high school art teacher for over 20 years, so I understand what it’s like to be in front of a class of students, often with very different abilities and attitudes.
I wanted to develop resources that would help teachers to bring out the best in every student in every class. I also wanted to free-up staff from time-consuming lesson preparation to let them focus instead on delivering exciting, motivating, dynamic lessons, supported by excellent resources.
