This Photopea Pop Art Coke Can task teaches your students some of the fundamental skills in Photopea whilst making connections to Pop Art and particularly Roy Lichtenstein.
Photopea is a free website that lets you edit pictures and is a good, inclusive alternative to Adobe Photoshop.
You need no knowledge of Photopea or Photoshop as the comprehensive instructions have everything a student needs. This makes an easy lesson for you or is an ideal task for homework.
Students need no experience and will learn:
- How to use filters to create a halftone image.
- How to create a new document.
- How to use layers to present, duplicate and re-order text and images in a design.
- How to add, move and resize text and images.
An optional ‘Further Learning’ task suggests students put their new Photopea skills into action using an image of their choice or their own photograph.
Included in this download:
- A 6-page instruction packet that includes step-by-step images and instructions. (Print this double-sided or make available to your students privately online)
- A one-page ‘Introduction to Photopea’
- A good example (The bright green image on this page).
