Stippling Art Lesson

Stippling Art Lesson – Drawing a Beetle

This stippling art lesson uses a beautiful stippled beetle as an example.  The worksheet asks students to draw the photograph of a beetle in pencil first and then apply stippling.  It explains what stippling is and gives detailed advice that will help them draw the beetle accurately.  This two-page download includes:

  • The beetle worksheet pictured above.
  • A lesson plan.

I would allow at least 3 50-minute lessons to complete this task.

There are many insect art resources on The Arty Teacher website.

A great little resource to use in between larger projects. An effective way to introduce a new technique.
