Van Gogh Introduction

Van Gogh is one of the most famous artists of all time. We know a lot about him as he wrote a lot of letters, particularly to his brother Theo. He was born in Groot-Zundert in the Netherlands. Van Gogh didn't start painting until he was 27, after getting sacked from his job as a lay preacher. He painted over 900 paintings and many more drawings and sketches in his short life.
