Which Art Apron?

By The Arty Teacher - August 2, 2019

As you head back to school you might be planning on treating yourself to a new art apron.  I don’t know of an art teacher who hasn’t ruined an item of clothing at some point or other in their career.  I’ve been trawling the internet and the aprons below all have some excellent features.

First up is this khaki canvas apron which is water-resistant & rugged and made from16 oz waxed canvas.  I love all the pockets and know that I’d be able to put my hands on an eraser or sharpener when I needed it.  (I’d also be able to secretly hide my phone in one of the deeper pockets, but don’t tell my students).

Brown is the new black in 2021, or so I’m told.  Handy pockets and 3 buttons on the neck strap that make it easy to adjust.  What’s not to love!

Denim Art Aprons

Oooh, I’m loving the distressed denim look.  I have a few outfits this would go with.  Love it! Just replace those scissors with paintbrushes.

Mmmmm… pockets…

The art apron below is officially a chefs apron.  Really? I’m sorry, I’m claiming it for art teachers.  Soft, machine washable and durable.

I hope you find just the right apron to complete your art teacher look and more importantly to keep your clothes clean.  If you’d like to be kept up-to-date with The Arty Teacher blog posts, click on the image below to register.

Thanks, just ordered the denim one for a long term art cover I’m doing at a learning centre- everything has to be locked away or in pockets!!!!! This will be perfect hopefully- to hold things and protect me!! Thanks for the help!!

Hi Sarah, is the third one (denim) still available? ( not the distressed one lower down the page?

Marketing idea: sell aprons with your logo on them 🙂 I’d buy one. At the very least sell iron-on embroidered logos that could be ironed on any apron.

Hi Dina, I have thought of this before and will reconsider it. I have thought of having a shop that sits alongside the digital downloads but rather like the freedom only doing digital downloads gives me. I’m torn!

I have the first one, green. I love it. It fits well, has lots of pockets, and washes up nicely. Heavy duty.
